Happy Pumpkin Day!

My dad used to carve one for the family when we were little, but last year was the first one I had done on my own. It is WAY fun!! We never know what we were missing out on all those years. All we knew about was the Reformation Party. Which is tonight!!!
Guess what... when my family was on Kauai a last month, Gracie was carving a pumpkin with her brand-new pocket knife when (whoops!) it slipped and sliced open her finger. My mom and the kids were in a cabin in the mountains 1 1/2 hours from civilization without a car (cause Dad had the car down in town) so they had to walk 1/2 mile to the "lodge" (all the while holding Gracie's finger shut), then the woman running the gift shop at the lodge would not let them use her first aid kit (for employees only), but offered to SELL THEM ONE! That's a story for Grandma Grace to tell the grandkids for sure!
(that's probably the longest comment you've received on a blog, but I thought it went along with the carving pumpkins theme) :_
